Film: WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING

"Funny, direct & poignant. I just sat back and enjoyed it" ...Naomi

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?...

There are plenty of surprises when a baby is added to the mix and many are explored within the neo-natal unit of this rom-com, pushed out by an ensemble cast, chock full of Hollywood stars such as Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison, Jennifer Lopez partnered with Rodrigo Santoro, Anna Kenrick and 'Gossip Girl's' Chace Crawford, Dennis Quaid and Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks and Ben Falcone, Chris Rock and Joe Manganiello.

Yes, there were tears, but mostly chuckles and guffaws, as five interconnected couples experience the impact of wanting a baby, pregnancy (enhanced by raging hormones) and fear of parenthood.

Never a dull moment, each character has a unique storyline, from staving off panic, being overly competitive, selfish, dominating and demanding, to sweetly taking it on the chin for love.

IMPRESSED BY...

Comedy is very tricky & takes a great deal of skill, but I found the pace of the unfolding multiple stories & each performance was spot on. There was a nice mix of emotions. I particularly enjoyed the men's group, Cameron Diaz character, as well as Dennis Quaid and Brooklyn Decker who played husband and young wife characters - they were hilarious.

LEFT ME FEELING...

The film was inspired by a New York Times bestselling novel and turned out to be just what I expected, funny, direct and poignant. I just sat back and enjoyed it. Although the humour was peppered with sadness, I left feeling warm and fuzzy.
