The Wolf of Wall Street

I will see any film with Leonardo DeCaprio in it, especially when it's directed by Martin Scorsese and based on a real story, so I was pretty excited when I went into the cinema.

The opening scene lays out exactly where the film is going, unfortunately it stays there a bit too long for me. Of course Leo gives a great performance, when doesn't he? And the film is hilarious in parts, especially the overdose scene, you can see why Leo won a Best Actor in a comedy award, although Matthew McConaughey was pretty funny too. But why is it so long?

A compelling story of Mandela's politics, his struggles and sacrifices and how he changed his country, but at it's heart of this film lies a love story. The narrative spans his life before, during and after prison and includes insight into his family, comrades, loves and personal heartache, while offering a powerful cinematic experience. MANDELA: Long Walk to Freedom

It was with a rush of excitement that I seated myself down back and centre to see the third film in the Twilight franchise, Eclipse - Choc Top unwrapped, anticipating the trip back into this world of love and fantasy. It started a little scarier than expected, which was grabbed my attention immediately. There was a lot more action, plenty of romance and even a few laughs - plus I swooned, yes I admit it. But isn't that the idea?

GRAVITY is a glorious cinema experience, with awe inspiring visuals and a compelling human story ... Naomi

GRAVITY stars Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, a jaw dropping landscape and textured sound design. Sandra plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with George as Matt Kowalski, veteran astronaut in command. 

From the start I felt close and intimate with the characters and the film grew tense quickly as I discovered their vulnerable position within a terrifying expanse of space. It's said that at 600km above Earth, the temperature fluctuates between +258 and -148 degrees Fahrenheit, there is nothing to carry sound, no air pressure and no oxygen. It's not somewhere I'd want to hang around for too long, after taking in the sights I'd want to get back to Earth pronto.

George Clooney's last scene made me giggle when I know it shouldn't, because he was so much like Buzz Lightyear.

The latest in the RIDDICK Chronicles is exciting from start to finish, you don't have to see the first two films to understand and enjoy this movie, although it will probably inspire you to seek out the DVD's. I love the sci-fi world created here, the great cast and the rush of this intriguing story.

I read sci-fi like a madman locked in a dungeon with only a book and a torch and the visual style and tone of Riddick is just how I see those books in my mind.

Riddick on Throne

This film is lightweight, a little bit funny and a little bit naughty, but the key characters start out too clean cut for what they are trying to sell to the audience, they didn't have far enough to go to make their story inpactful, but if you want a no-brainer giggle with a friend this could be the film for you.

I enjoyed every camp, mincing, hot tub minute of this film and I highly recommend it. When the film finished I rushed out of the cinema and watched a few clips of Liberace on You Tube... too, too fabulous... Naomi Rossdeutscher

Liberace is one of the great talents I wish I had seen, along with Elvis. I remember when I was 6 years old I believed I would see Elvis in concert one day, but no, dreams don't always come true.

I was excited to get an invite to BEHIND THE CANDELABRA and keen to wear my new jeans to the film preview, but I thought, "Liberace, hmmm, will it call for something a little more glamourious?" He was a fancy dresser. I remember there was always a bit of gold thread and bling even when he wasn't wearing his $300 000 fur coat with crystal studded train.

But being engrossed in a movie, in a dark cinema, I'm bound to end up wearing half of my Choc Top, so the fake-fur stayed at home and the jeans won, I just dressed them up with a Dolce & Gabbana inspired shirt, with Chinese collar, and gold sand-shoes and yeah, I think I got it right on the night because check out the cute couple in the gold pumps below.
